The first workshops for the development of a Strategic Document for the Development of Prelog was held

In the premises of City of Prelog, on February 22, 2018, the first workshop of the Working Group was held to draft one of most relevant strategic documents for the development of Town Prelog. Namely, the Town Prelog has been preparing the “Development Strategy of Town Prelog from 2018 to 2028.” The work of the Working Group was welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Prelog Zdravko Kvakan and the President of the City Council of Town Prelog Đuro Ujlaki, while the DESCO project was presented by Mateja Kavran Matjačić.

The workshop was led by representatives of Bercon Ltd. who are in charge of planning and making the document. The development of this strategy is in the initial phase and will be the basic document of the future development of Town Ludbreg and it will be co-financed under the Interreg V-A Croatia – Hungary cross-border co-operation programme 2014-2020 as part of the project “Development of strategic cross-border cooperation Letenye, Ludbreg and Prelog”.

The DESCO project is based on the need to strengthen co-operation between small towns and different stakeholders and involves three partners from two countries: Ludbreg, Prelog and Letenye Municipality, with the aim of improving co-operation between partners, institutions and citizens in the cross-border area. The main objective of the project is to develop a common platform for strategic co-operation between different stakeholders across the cross-border area. Such a method enables the linkage of a large number of different organizations, the resolution of development issues on both sides of the border and the creation of a strategic basis for solving common problems. The specific objectives of the project are to increase the exchange of experience and knowledge between participants from the Croatian and Hungarian sides, strengthening the partnership between local authorities, civil society and SME´s. The first workshop of the Working Group brought together many interested individuals and representatives of different organizations.
