DESCO organized a study tours

As part of the project “Development of Strategic Cross-border Cooperation between Letenye, Ludbreg and Prelog”, the acronym DESCO cross-border trips to Hungary and Croatia were organized. The project is co-financed by the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020. On the cross-border trip, representatives of the involved partner organizations of the City of Ludbreg, Prelog and Letenye, representatives of civil society organizations, public institutions and private entities from the area of included cities participated.

The objective of cross-border travel within the project was the transfer of good practices, experiences, ideas, methodology of work with the various organizations and institutions, networking and linking of various stakeholders in the cross-border area.

Within cross-border travel, stakeholders visited the University of Pécs, the Joint Secretariat of the INTERREG V-A Hungary-Croatia cooperation program 2014.-2020., the development agencies in the area of Zala and Osijek-Baranja County, Ethnology Center etc. Visits to these organizations resulted in new acquaintances, knowledge, transfer experiences in various fields (eg writing and applying for bids, exchanging experience in cross-border projects, etc.) and linking different stakeholders and creating ideas for future partnerships and co-operation.

Such a way of connecting and networking stakeholders from different areas is the backbone of the DESCO project. The general goal of the project is the need for better co-operation between similar municipalities, cities and organizations with a similar vision for action and stakeholders who will produce new initiatives, programs and projects.
